Virtual Safety Roundtable: Training Effectiveness, How Do You Know it Actually Changed Behavior
Wednesday, February 18, 2026
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Virtual)
- Pre- and Post-Training Assessments/Metrics: Establish a baseline of performance before the training, then measure the same metrics 30, 60, or 90 days later to identify improvements.
- Direct Observation (On-the-job): Have managers or supervisors observe employees to see if they are actively applying new skills or behaviors in their daily work.
- 360-Degree Feedback/Surveys: Collect feedback from peers, direct reports, and supervisors to gain a comprehensive view of behavioral changes, rather than relying only on self-reporting.
- KPI Tracking: Monitor specific business metrics directly influenced by the training, such as reduced customer complaints, faster task completion, or higher safety compliance rates.
- Self-Reporting & Action Plans: Ask employees to complete action plans or provide self-assessments detailing how they have implemented the new knowledge on the job.
- LMS Data/Analytics: Utilize Learning Management Systems to track not just completion, but how long employees spend on modules and their scores, which can indicate engagement and potential behavior change.
This session is ideal for safety managers, field supervisors, operations leaders, and anyone responsible for protecting crews working in and around excavation and utility construction activities.
