Virtual Roundtable: Stay Positive: Practical Mental Health & Suicide Prevention for the Jobsite

Date: Wednesday, September 17th
Time: 8am - 9am
Location:
Virtual Zoom Session

Construction teams face unique pressures—tight schedules, high-risk environments, and the “tough it out” culture—that can hide real struggles. In this Virtual Safety Roundtable, guest speaker Ridge Wilson, Founder of Stay Positive Safety Solutions, will share practical, jobsite-ready strategies leaders can use to recognize warning signs, reduce stigma, and support workers before a crisis occurs.

Ridge worked his way from laborer to Safety Director over 15+ years in construction. His trainings are known for being hands-on, real-world, and focused on building stronger safety cultures where people feel supported on and off the job. Expect plain-spoken guidance you can apply the same day—tailored to crews, foremen, and safety leaders.

What you’ll learn

  • How to spot risk factors and early indicators of mental-health distress on crews—and what to do in the moment

  • Conversation frameworks for supervisors: checking in, listening well, and connecting people to help without crossing clinical lines

  • Practical steps to reduce stigma and normalize help-seeking in a construction culture

  • Simple policy and toolbox-talk ideas you can roll out in weeks, not months

  • Resources you can share with your teams, including crisis support (988) and local options

Who should attend

Contractors, safety professionals, superintendents, foremen, HR/people leaders, and anyone responsible for field safety and crew well-being.

Format

Virtual roundtable with brief remarks, practical techniques, and open Q&A.
