As Arizona prepares for another extreme heat season, significant new heat safety regulations and local ordinances are taking effect across the state, directly impacting utility contractors, subcontractors, and field operations.

Join the Arizona Chapter of NUCA (AZUCA) for an important Virtual Safety Roundtable focused on understanding the evolving heat safety requirements being adopted at both municipal and state levels.

Recent developments include:

  • The City of Phoenix Heat Safety Ordinance, effective March 6, 2026, requiring contractors performing outdoor work to maintain and implement written heat safety and mitigation plans, provide accessible drinking water, shaded rest areas, acclimatization procedures, and documented employee training

  • Proposed ADOSH statewide heat standards currently under review

  • Newly adopted heat safety requirements in the City of Tempe

  • Additional local ordinances being considered across Arizona jurisdictions

This roundtable will provide contractors, safety professionals, and operations leaders an opportunity to:

✅ Understand new compliance requirements
✅ Discuss how ordinances affect contracts and subcontractor responsibilities
✅ Share implementation strategies and best practices
✅ Ask questions and learn from peer experiences
✅ Prepare crews and safety programs ahead of peak heat season
